Speed issues through villages gather momentum
The issues of speeding and dangerous driving on the A534 through Bulkeley and Ridley have been with us for longer than we care to remember.
The Parish Council have been working in the background to raise the issues through contacts in the local council and more recently have moved up a gear with the local MP Aphra Brandreth. At local council level, the causes for concern that we have put forward have not triggered any direct action, but it is hoped that this new initiative will bring some benefit to the residents and make the road a safer place.
Simon Jordan has led the action so far and together with Richard Frisk they recently met Ms. Brandreth to discuss ways forward. We wait to hear the outcome as Ms. Brandreth takes the issue forward on our behalf.
One action that we will continue to follow is that of the Community Speed Watch. If you would like to volunteer and join in this project (no prior expertise required), then please either let Simon know or contact Idina Hastings to register your interest. It is one way that we can gather data to support any future road safety proposals. Contacts are on the Website.
